Seedy and Safe: Community Event Finale
About this Event
Six hours. Eight acts you don't want to miss. One neighbourhood proving that big change starts with small activations.
On August 29, the alley behind The Big Cheese on 17th Ave turns into a stage — and we're handing it to eight local YYC artists you must hear, playing a space this neighbourhood spent all summer building.
The short version of how we got here: back in 2021 we teamed up with The Big Cheese to clear out their alley and build a public stage from pallets and plywood people donated. It worked, and it left us with bigger questions about who public space is really for. We've been chewing on those ever since.
So this year we came back with more time and a better plan. A month of free workshops. Two build days. A mural designed by the people who actually live here.
Now we're opening it. Come see what got made.
