Community snorkellers are invited to help collect seagrass fruit for restoration at Mangles Bay.As members of the local community, you can play an active role in restoring these vitally important natural habitats. OzFish is determined to restore seagrass loss via harvesting seagrass fruits and reseeding them into areas ready to be re-established as seagrass meadows. Doing so will provide shelter for our diverse range of marine species, including important recreational fishing species such as our iconic pink snapper.
Normally, our fruit collection dives are for qualified scuba divers and freedivers only, but this year we will be running a community fruit collection event for snorkelers.
