Gather, learn, and grow with a unique seed swap field experience field trip to Lawrence! In partnership with our local Seed Swap committee, receive education from experts on how to harvest, clean, and store seeds.
This is a great opportunity to connect and learn from the best in the field so you can start or grow your own seed bank in preparation for the Manhattan Seed Swap on February 1, 2026.
There are two registration options for this event. Join us for a Tallgrass Tour where you ride in our 15-passenger van or choose the Walk & Talk option where you meet in Lawrence. Please see the discussion posts for both registration options.
Minimum age for both options is 13. All youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Cost for the Walk & Talk option is $25 for FHDC members and $30 for non-members. Cost for the Tallgrass Tour option is $35 for FHDC members and $40 for non-members. Lunch cost is not included. Pre-registration is required by Friday, November 14 at 5 pm. Spots are limited for both options. Register for one option only.
