About this Event
Sourcing a variety of quality plants is one of the biggest financial and logistical challenges for most home growers. Learn how to get great starts in a small space using easy-to-learn methods!
Join Jason Kamp, our Director of Gardens, as he shares his knowledge of all things seeds in an indoor talk, provides a guided tour of our very own garden production spaces, and leads a hands-on seed starting activity.
Great for both beginner and experienced gardeners, this class will cover the following:
- Tools and Equipment for home seed starting. Informed reviews before you buy.
- Starter soil mix recipes and tips for best results.
- Climate control concerns. Keeping your seedlings happy.
- Planning and timing your starts for peak performance.
- Watering needs, hardening off, and early protection after transplanting.
This informative class will also provide take home digital resources, free seeds, and your own “milk jug mini greenhouse” to help you grow your own healthy food right in your own backyard!
