Preserve the future of your garden! In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to collect, clean, and store seeds from a variety of plants. Discover techniques to maintain seed viability, save favorite varieties, and contribute to sustainable gardening practices for seasons to come.
Audience Target: Adults and teens ages 10+. Ideal for anyone interested in ensuring their garden comes back year after year.
Format: Classroom Workshop
Workshop Benefits/Learning Outcomes:
* Identify which plants are suitable for seed saving and the best time to collect their seeds.
* Demonstrate proper techniques for harvesting, cleaning, and drying seeds.
* Apply methods for storing seeds to maintain viability and prevent spoilage.
* Understand the importance of seed saving for preserving plant diversity and supporting sustainable gardening practices.

Presenter: Stephanie Wells is an urban agriculturist who enjoys creating edible ecosystems for both people and wildlife. She works closely with communities facing food insecurities to grow healthy, sustainable food. In her spare time, Stephanie likes to volunteer her time with various community organizations that focus on resolving the food crisis that is present in some communities. She has an A.A.S in Horticulture and is currently pursuing a B.S. in Agriculture Education-Professional Service.
