We’re thrilled to share that we’ve been selected to take part in a very special project running up to March 2027.
As part of the See You in the Garden project, we’ll be hosting a series of events right here in the Park — celebrating our beautiful green spaces, bringing people together, and helping to grow stronger, more connected communities.
This is a wonderful opportunity for us all, and we can’t wait to welcome you into the garden as the project unfolds.
Let’s make the most of our park, our people, and our shared future.
🎳 What better way to bowl off our See you in the Garden series! 🎳
By partnering with our friends at Usworth Bowling Club, who are celebrating a truly incredible milestone this year — Happy 100 Years! 💯🎉
And what better place to mark such a special birthday than right here in the Usworth Welfare Park where it all began, with a celebratory bowls match starting at 1.30pm.
But that’s not all…
From 12–4pm, the Park will be buzzing with family‑friendly activities, including:
🌱 Allotment open for drop‑ins
🎨 Crafts
📚 Free books
🧸 Free toys
☕ Refreshments
🧶 And our wonderfully talented knitting, crochet and crafting group showcasing their amazing work — and trust us, they have plenty to show off!
It’s a day for everyone — families, friends, neighbours, and anyone who loves seeing our green spaces come alive with community spirit.
