Sveta are proud to present a scene and band that have influenced many musicians to have graced our stage. A whole night dedicated to Manchester's legendary Factory Records, with one of the original names flying over to play live - Section 25!
As one of the initial groups to hail from the Factory scene, Blackpool's Section 25 are also one of the few to keep the flame alive, along with New Order, with whom they often performed together. 1981's 'Always Now' was produced by Martin Hannett, who worked with Joy Division and later Happy Mondays, while some initial co-production was done by Joy Division's Ian Curtis.
From then on Section 25 embodied the evolution of Factory and Manchester's alternative Eighties, progressing from cold and eerie post-punk to sinister dance music, including 1984's timeless hit 'Looking From A Hilltop".
Section 25 will be supported by Tallinn-based British act The Lunacy Of Flowers with a live set, who's industrial sound has its roots in that early Eighties Manchester scene.
The rest of the night will be music from Factory Records and its notorious Hacienda club, as selected by DJ's Luke Teetsov-Faulkner and Sander Varusk.
