About this Event
Suitable for children aged 6+
Superheroes have incredible superpowers, and many of us would love to have them too!
Supergirl can effortlessly lift cars, trains, and aeroplanes. Tony Stark flies around New York City in his Iron Man suit. Spider-Man climbs walls and spins webs. And Sue Storm of the Fantastic Four has the incredible power of invisibility.
But could you have these superpowers in the future?
And besides defeating supervillains, where could we use these superpowers every day? Could you use your superpowers to help with your homework?
In the Secrets of Superhero Science, you’ll discover the science behind the flying Iron Man suit, the real-life scientists trying to make artificial spider silk, the technology that can turn you invisible, and lots more besides.
Are you ready to unlock the Secrets of Superhero Science?
Dr Barry Fitzgerald (The Superhero Scientist) is a physicist, speaker, author, and science communicator who loves to talk about everything science! And of course, he’s a huge fan of superheroes too!
He has his own YouTube channel - The Superhero Scientist - where he shares videos on the science and engineering of superheroes, Star Wars, Santa Claus, and other topics.
He is also the author of four popular science books – ‘Secrets of Superhero Science’ (2016), ‘Secret Science of Santa Claus’ (2016), ‘How to Build an Iron Man Suit’ (2019), and ‘Superheroes’ (2024).
Barry has seen the 2016 film Captain America: Civil War more than 50 times, and his superpower remains a closely guarded secret.
