About this Event

The ascent of the House of Tudor ended decades of civil war and launched England into the Renaissance with a flourishing of art and commerce. Henry VIII, denied an annulment of his marriage to Catherine of Aragon by the Pope, separated England from the Catholic Church. What followed was a period of confusion, iconoclasm, and death for many on both sides — Catholic and Protestant.

Secretorum: Private Devotional Music from the House of Tudor invites you to contemplate what it means to believe at a time when openly practicing your faith could see you imprisoned, tortured, or killed.
