Secret Song Club presents Megan McLaughlin, Aireene Espiritu and Tim McKee

Join us as we celebrate the end of a great year of Secret Song Club parties with a Songwriters in the Round concert featuring of The Sampaguitas, of The Musers, and of LUMANATION.

Doors open at 1:00, featured performers begin at 1:15, open mic starts at 3:00. Camping chairs or picnic blankets recommended. Bring anything you like to drink.

Seating is limited to 25 and we’ve had a lot of inquiries about this event, so reservations via advance donation here on Eventbrite are highly recommended. Address and details will be sent to you after your Eventbrite donation. All donations go to Megan, Aireene, and Tim.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

Aireene Espiritu plays a mix of stompin', swayin' and timeless Americana reminiscent of front porch storytelling, of ghosts and the living, times of laughter and tears. She’s an Oakland-based singer/songwriter with over 25 years experience covering various genres from folk, blues, gospel, rhythm and blues to world music. Aireene was a soloist with the Glide Ensemble in San Francisco, has toured internationally and across the country, playing venues such as Freight & Salvage to festivals such as Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival and more.

Megan McLaughlin is an innovative guitar player, singer, and songwriter with a powerful, clear voice, who sings like the love child of Joni Mitchell and David Crosby. She studied voice, composition, and theory in college, busked on the streets of Paris, and then studied guitar with Nina Gerber when love brought her to California in the 90’s. She produced three CDs between 1995 - 2010. Since retiring from teaching Kindergarten in 2017, she has turned her attention to mandolin, woodshedding, writing songs, doing Ashtanga Yoga, and booking her band, The Musers.

Tim McKee has been a regular in the Sonoma and Marin County scenes as lead guitar for Reggae band LUMANATION and other funk and rock projects for the past 25+ years. He's the mind behind 'Songs N Soup' - a group where songwriters gather and share completed original works based on a provided prompt. Tim keeps his singer-songwriter side a bit private, but has graced many local open mics through the years. His original songs vary in style, but tend to be rhythmic and touch on stories of human connection.
