This young maker’s guild is all about creating, exploring, innovating, crafting, and building. Is this an art class? Well, sort of, but it’s more like an engineer-brainstorm-get messy-use-tools-sciencey-paint-draw-experiment kind of club, and imagination is the glue that sticks it all together.
The Secret Society of the Imaginari is a semester-long engagement that takes STEAM to a whole new level in a playful and encouraging environment that fosters creativity through the creative reuse of materials. Imaginari members will:
- Bring designs to life by studying the works of OG Imaginari, like Leonardo da Vinci. Hooray, History!
- Learn about and how to use basic maker tools like drills, simple saws, wood-burning tools, sewing machines, and more – all under supervision, of course! Hooray, Life Skills!
- Go beyond the crayon box and experiment with unique reuse materials like wood, metal, fabric, and wire. Hooray, Environmental Science!
- Explore various maker techniques like bookbinding, building, sewing, collage, and woodworking. Hooray, Art, Engineering, and Math!
