Sarah Harrington studied the Cello at the Royal Academy of Music in London under the Professors Derek Simpson and David Smith. After several years freelancing in London with Orchestras such as Glyndebourne Touring Opera, English Chamber Orchestra, Mozart Festival Orchestra and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Sarah returned to Scotland in 1998 to work with the Orchestra of Scottish Opera. Whilst being a current member of the Orchestra of Scottish Opera, Sarah also performs in Chamber Ensembles and teaches at Hutcheson Grammer and Lomond school.
A native of Stirling, Stephen Adam studied both cello and piano at the RSAMD and RNCM, then joined the Orchestra of Scottish Opera in 1980, retiring in 2013 to explore his lifelong loves of chamber and choral music. He performed with various groups on the Music Club circuit and for The Council for Music in Hospitals for 40 years and in 2023 visited Tiblisi’s Conservatoire twice, to coach young singers. He will be adjudicating string and piano classes at next year’s Ayrshire Music Festival and this year hopes to improve his organ playing [with the least amount of practice!]

With Trio Alma they have performed all over Scotland and have exciting concerts planned for 2024/25.
