November is Native American Heritage Month! Native American Heritage Month is observed to call attention to the culture, traditions, and achievements of the Americas original inhabitants and of their descendants.Beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Victor Valley Museum, come learn about the rich history of the Maara’yam culture with guest speaker, San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Cultural Council Member of the Tribal Council, Joseph Maarang. While you're here, visit the stunning and immersive Mosaics of the Mojave: Life, Culture, and Ecology in the Mojave Desert exhibit, participate in hands-on crafts, and enjoy a cart talk.
Families can enjoy on-site themed art projects every month at the Victor Valley Museum from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Join us on the second Saturday of each month for an exciting hands-on art workshop for the entire family. Themes change each month so be sure to visit the website for current details.
Regular museum admission applies. Museum galleries will be open during the event. General admission is $10 (adult), $8 (military or senior), $7 (student), and $5 (child ages 6 to 12). Museum Association members and children five and under are free. The museum is accessible to persons with disabilities and parking is free.
