Our guest artist, Sonia Whittle has extended her stay with us! Check out her conceptual and realism acrylic paintings. Sonia's bio:

Sonia Whittle was born in New Rochelle, New York in 1972. A graduate of George Mason University, School of Art; her interest in art was established at an early age and cultivated in a household of self-trained artists. Upon relocating to Oakland, CA, Sonia painted in private while making a name for herself as a spoken word artist and vocalist. Until now, her paintings have mainly adorned the walls of her home. After more than a 10-year hiatus Sonia returns painting with a new focus. She credits this homecoming to the forced reclamation of time during the Shelter-in-Place order due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

RBA member artist, Ajuan Mance, will be with us from 1:30p to 3:30pm for a book signing. She has 2 books for sale with us: "Living While Black: Portraits of Everyday Resistance" and "1001 Black Men: Portraits of Masculinity at the Intersections". Both books feature her colorful digital art and offer insightful writings about Black life. You can come by to check them out and chat with the creator.
