We can all pat ourselves on the back for having waited, patiently, for a whole month since we got together for a shanty session at The Dubliner. But now, the wait is over! This coming Monday, September 8th, to be precise, we are gathering to once again raise the roof with songs about oceans, sailing, fishing, whales, rivers or, even, canals. If you want to lead a song for us remember that it should stick to those topics and it should have a chorus or repeating refrain that people can sing along with. No instruments! No song sheets! Just singing. In harmony if at all possible. Song leaders: remember that we encourage you to know your song well enough to be able to get up and lead it without much, if any, reference to memory aids -- lyric sheets or phone screens. If possible. To get on the list of song leaders for the evening, look for Larry Raineri who will be our song herder for the evening. As always, remember to tip the bar staff well, treat everyone around you as a friend and sing your hearts out with enthusiasm. Oh, and please keep the room quiet so that our unamplified song leaders can be heard. It's all about the harmony.
