Second Harvest needs help packing backpacks for elementary-aged students in our community. This program is designed to fill in the gap between students who recieve free or reduced lunches during the week and may not have as much food access on the weekends.This program provides over 5,000 backpacks of food every week to Leon and surrounding counties. Last year, they distributed over 34,000 backpacks (208,000 meals) through this backpack program.
Second Harvest has asked if we can get enough volunteers to help them pack 2,000 backpacks for children in our community!
