SECOND DATE - Dumpling Making with Madeleine Conover

Scattering/Collecting at Da Vinci Art Alliance presents the work of Chinese American adoptees: Allison Carl, Talia Connelly, Madeleine Conover, Eva Lin Fahey, Jillian Hammer, Mia Kaplan, Katie Mongoven, Alison Staffin, and Ari Zuaro. Together, they have come together to create an exhibition that transforms the gallery at Da Vinci Art Alliance into a “third space;” a place to gather, fortify self, and forge community.

By popular demand, Scattering/Collecting artist, Madeleine Conover, will be teaching the second of two dumpling-making workshops on November 12th from 6-8pm. The event will center on other Chinese adoptees or folks facing displacement to gather, learn a new skill, and be a part of this third space.

Participants will be led through the step-by-step process of filling, mixing, folding, and cooking. At the end of the workshop, participants will have a chance to taste and enjoy their dumplings amongst new friends. The ticket price of $25 will pay for workshop materials.

* DVAA is a historic row home in the Bella Vista neighborhood. We are not yet wheelchair accessible; Da Vinci is a three floor gallery with narrow staircases. (We are working towards becoming ADA accessible by 2027!) It is 5 steps up to the first floor level, and 14 steps from the first to second floor, where the gender-neutral bathroom is located. Da Vinci has masks and COVID tests available at our events. We can reserve seats for low-vision and Deaf, and HoH community members as needed.
