Ever wanted to try camping with your horse but weren’t quite sure where to start? Or maybe you’ve been trail riding for a while and want to feel more confident when it comes to group rides, camping, and all the gear that comes with it?
Join SEAT for a fun and educational weekend at Northwest River Park in Chesapeake, VA, November 6–8!
Trail Riding & Camping 101 is designed for riders and horse lovers who want to learn more about enjoying the trails safely, confidently, and comfortably.
Throughout the weekend, we’ll cover topics including:
* Preparing your horse and rider for trail riding
* Trailering basics, including trailer parking help, and getting your horse settled at camp
* Trail etiquette and riding safely in a group
* Equipment and essential gear
* Camp setup and camping with horses
* Campfire fellowship and plenty of time to share tips and stories
* Trail riding and hands-on learning
We’ll have experienced trail riders available to share what they’ve learned from their own adventures—what works, what doesn’t, and the things you don’t always think about until you’re already at camp.
No camping experience? No problem! Bring your horse, your questions, and your sense of adventure—we’ll help with the rest.
Whether you’re a first-time camper, a newer trail rider, an experienced rider looking to learn something new, or simply a horse lover curious about camping with horses, everyone is welcome.
