It’s really happening!
Redwood Symphony is making music again, and tickets are now available for our first concert, Undistant, featuring the West Coast Premiere of Mason Bates’ work by the same name, on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 8 p.m.
Once again, we will be in the Main Theater of Canada College, 4200 Farm Hill Blvd., Redwood City.

However, in deference to the current uncertainty of the pandemic, some things will be significantly different — at least until we see ourselves through this crisis:
Tickets will ONLY be available online. For the September concert at least, we won’t be selling any tickets at the door.
The concert will be 90 minutes long without an intermission.
No intermission, sadly, means no cookies and coffee or tea. We’ll be thrilled when we can bring refreshments back.
No printed programs will be available so PDFs of the program will be emailed directly to ticket purchasers. Be sure to print yours out or have it handy on your smart phone or tablet for concert viewing.
Perhaps most significant of all, Maestro Eric K will be delivering his incredibly popular pre-concert talk via video — which will be available on the website and emailed directly to ticket purchasers. We want to reduce the amount of time you are in the concert hall.
Please be assured that we are taking precautions to protect your health and the health of our musicians and volunteers. Masks and social distancing will be required, and all concert-goers must be vaccinated. For a detailed look at our plans to keep you safe at the concert, please review our COVID-19 protocols here: https://redwoodsymphony.org/covid-19-protocols/
If you would like to support Redwood Symphony through the whole 2021-2022 season, please consider becoming a season subscriber. Season subscriptions are available here: https://redwoodsymphony.org/season-tickets-37th-season/
We can’t wait to see you on Sept. 25!
September 25, 2021: Undistant
Rossini: William Tell Overture
Bates: Undistant (West Coast Premiere)
Brahms: Violin Concerto – Jassen Todorov, violin soloist
We’re proud to open our season with the West Coast premiere of Mason Bates’ latest orchestral work, incorporating Beethoven’s Ode to Joy from his Ninth Symphony, to create a pandemic-inspired tonal portrait of isolation giving way to connection.
Jassen Todorov will perform Brahms’s iconic Violin Concerto — and what better way to celebrate some new freedoms than with the William Tell Overture? Heigh ho!
