About this Event

"Searching For God When We Suffer - A Cancer Survivor's Story of Friendship, Family and Faith"

In 1978, Rabbi Jaffe bounded across the finish line of the New York City Marathon sporting a t-shirt with his logo “The Running Rabbi.” He had never been sick a day in his life and he felt indestructible. That was then.

His illusion was shattered six years later when he was battling a rare leukemia. For twenty years as a rabbi, he helped others through crises. He was supposed to have all the answers. Yet, when he got sick, he discovered he didn’t have them all.

As a five-time cancer survivor, his battle with a life-threatening illness inspired him to co-author "Why Not Me? Searching for God When We Suffer – A Five-Time Cancer Survivor’s Story of Family, Friendship and Faith", the story of his rescue from leukemia and his spiritual triumph over despair.

Join us for an engaging discussion about his struggles and spiritual growth regarding his transformation when diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.
