🌊 Seaquest Southwest Public Seawatch – December🐬
When: Sunday 20th December | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Where: St Ives Island
Join us for an exciting morning of trying to spot wildlife along the stunning Cornish coast! Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, porpoises, seals, and seabirds, while learning from experienced volunteers and marine enthusiasts. Every sighting helps contribute to valuable citizen science, so you’ll be making a real difference too.
What to Bring:
- Warm, waterproof clothing & sturdy shoes
- Binoculars (we have a few to share)
- Camera (optional!)
- Curiosity and a love of wildlife
Accessibility:
There’s public parking around St Ives harbour (including at The Island Car Park and other Cornwall Council car parks) with disabled parking spaces and tarmac surfaces. Accessible public toilets are available nearby in the town (including at West Pier, Sloop car park and Porthminster), though note that St Ives has hills, cobbled streets and some stepped sections, which can make getting around more challenging. The route from the Island car park to the platform under the NCI lookout follows the harbour and steep slopes.
Booking: No need to book – just turn up! All ages welcome.
✨ Come for the wildlife, stay for the views – an unforgettable morning by the sea awaits!
