About the exhibition:

CORBAN WALKER: RESIST

23 October – 15 November 2025

In this, Walker’s second solo exhibition with Solomon Fine Art, the artist continues his explorations of scale and architectural constructs, shaped by his perception of a world mapped out to accommodate a different measure from his own. This new body of work reflects a deep engagement with the current volatile global landscape on multiple levels, while also addressing his experience of navigating his surroundings with reduced mobility.

In a process of distillation, a core value within the body of work, Walker integrates themes ranging from the climate crisis, disability, and the deplorable genocide in Gaza. Finding material from the constant and horrifying political landscape being played out throughout the world, he has created a response that reflects resilience under extreme frustration. This collection of sculptures accompanied by a number of works on paper span from a precise perception of scale to unravelled compositions of structure and to articulate a situation beyond comprehension.

CORBAN WALKER

Walker (b. 1967, Dublin, Ireland) graduated from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, in 1992. Since then, he has mounted several solo exhibitions internationally and has realised important public art commissions worldwide. His most recent public sculpture, BUSHY, was unveiled in Dublin’s Bushy Park in 2022 and was closely followed by a major solo exhibition at the Crawford Gallery, Cork. Walker represented Ireland at the 54th Venice International Art Biennale in 2011 and received the prestigious Pollock Krasner Award in 2015. His work forms part of numerous public and private collections including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, the Crawford Gallery, Cork and the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin.

SEAN O'HAGAN

Sean O’Hagan began his journalism career writing about music for publications including NME, The Face, and Arena. Observing a lack of coverage on the medium, it was during this time that he became interested in photography. Author of 'Faith, Hope & Carnage, O'Hagan is former art critic with the Guardian and currently a feature writer for the Observer.
