Seam Finishes Demo and Mini Class
About this Event
Take your homemade garments from home-sewn to high-end! No serger? No problem. In this interactive demo and mini class led by instructor Zoe Branch at Mood Fabrics Chicago, you will explore professional techniques to achieve clean, durable edges on all your garments using a standard sewing machine. Learn how to elevate your craftsmanship and give your projects a polished, store-bought look from the inside out.
- What you will do: You will watch step-by-step demonstrations, practice constructing specialized finishes like French seams and flat-felled seams on provided muslin swatches, and learn alternative non-serger edge-finishing methods.
- What to bring: Bring your own sewing machine if you prefer to learn on your personal setup. Muslin fabric will be provided!
Sewing Machine Availability
We have 10 Janome MOD-15 Easy-to-Use Sewing Machines (featuring 15 stitches, adjustable stitch length, and 5-piece feed dogs) available for attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. You are also welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you prefer!
Class Registration & Cancellation Policy
Refunds for the ticket price are available for cancellations made up to 24 hours before the event start time. Please note that Eventbrite’s service fees are non-refundable, so you will receive a partial refund equal to the ticket amount minus those fees.
