Dr. Jessica M. Small, PhD
Assistant Professor; Director, Aquaculture Genetics and Breeding Technology Center - VIMS
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Jessica Small earned her PhD from William & Mary/Virginia Institute of Marine Science. Her primary focus has been on genetics and has worked with numerous species over the years including oysters, fish, spiny lobsters, American lobsters, blue crabs and even parasitic isopods.
She is currently the Director of the Aquaculture Genetics and Breeding Technology Center where the focus is largely on oyster breeding and research projects to benefit the shellfish aquaculture industry in the Commonwealth of Virginia and beyond.
