Seacobeck Series: Prof. John Vreeland and the St. George's Jazz EnsembleThe St. George Jazz Ensemble came together organically in the fall of 2005. Originally a quartet with piano, bass, guitar, and clarinet to support the new 9:00 am Sunday morning Eucharist, it grew to 10 pieces with additional horns and drums in a few months, fed by the players’ love of jazz. The ensemble performs a wide repertoire, including standards, straight ahead jazz and Latin jazz, as well as original sacred jazz service music and anthems by Director of Music Ministries John Vreeland--also adjunct Prof. of Organ and Piano at UMW.
