About this Event
Many of you will know that apart from our small boat expertise there are quite a few PSC members with experience in ‘big’ boats i.e. yachts. There are also quite a few members who aspire to sail big boats!
The RYA offer courses in Sea Survival showing you how to make the best use of a liferaft and the safety equipment onboard a boat in an emergency. We are running a PSC version of this course on our lake. It’s not an RYA course and there will be no certificates involved, but rather some of our experienced sailors sharing their expertise with those of you who have an interest in this aspect of our sport.
Do Come along if you want to practice some 'OffShore' Sea Survival techniques in Priory Lake
- This involves a short discussion on the theory of Sea Survival
- Jumping into the lake with an inflated Life Jacket (not a buoyancy aid)
- Techniques of survival and swimming with a Life Jacket
- Inflating and then getting into a Life Raft as a team
- Righting an upside down Life Raft and climbing in by yourself
You will get wet!
