We’re looking for 30 volunteers to help plant sea oats and restore our dunes!
What are sea oats and why are they important?
Sea oats are tall, graceful grasses with golden seed heads that grow along coastal dunes. They’re more than just beautiful — their deep root systems help hold sand in place, preventing erosion and protecting our shorelines from storms. By planting sea oats, we’re strengthening the dune system, creating habitats for wildlife, and ensuring our beaches remain healthy for generations to come.
The planting process:
We’ll divide into teams of five, with each person playing a vital role. Teamwork is key! Please wear closed-toe shoes for safety and comfort.
What we provide:
All necessary tools and materials, including fertilizer, plants, shovels, and more. Shade and drinking water will also be available — please bring a refillable water bottle.
