Principal Guest Conductor Edo de Waart leads the Orchestra in a richly varied program beginning with Aaron Copland's legendary portrait of rural America, Appalachian Spring. The exquisitely talented Dutch violinist Simone Lamsma plays Erich Korngold's Hollywood-inspired Violin Concerto and, to finish, Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No. 8 sends us out filled with optimism and a love of the countryside and the natural world.
