South Dakota's Finest High School Singers to Perform in Rapid City
RAPID CITY, S.D. — The public is invited to experience an evening of exceptional choral music as the South Dakota Senior High School Honor Choir presents its final concert on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center of Rapid City, 601 Columbus Street.
The South Dakota Senior High School Honor Choir brings together 132 of the state's finest high school vocalists for a week of intensive rehearsals and musical growth on the campus of Black Hills State University in Spearfish. Selected through a competitive audition process, these outstanding young musicians represent schools from across South Dakota and spend the week refining their artistry while preparing a diverse and inspiring concert program.
This year's Honor Choir is conducted by Dr. Lee Nelson, Professor of Music at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. Widely respected as a conductor, educator, and clinician, Dr. Nelson has worked with honor choirs and ensembles throughout the United States and is known for his engaging rehearsal style and commitment to musical excellence.
The concert showcases the remarkable talent, dedication, and musicianship of South Dakota's top high school singers and promises an inspiring evening of choral music for audiences of all ages.
