The SCTS Annual Meeting is a conference aimed at the cardiothoracic surgical community which takes place over three days in March and each year the meeting rotates around UK and Ireland.The University Day is usually on a Sunday when national and international leaders deliver a lecture-based programme covering a range of topics to enhance contemporary practice. The NAHPs deliver diverse wet and dry lab sessions along with a research-themed session. The university also runs a medical student section with the aim of inspiring the next generation.
The main meeting starts on Monday with the presidential plenary. Over the next two days, delegates are invited to present their work to peers and the leaders in the field in abstract-driven sessions. These sessions are usually followed by keynote lectures from internationally recognised leaders.
The society receives generous sponsorship from industry partners who are able to showcase their products and services at the conference exhibition.
