Script Reads: from short story to film in Queer
About this Event
For Pride Month we will be looking at Luca Guadagnino's film QUEER.
Screenwriter Justin Kuritzkes also collaborated with Luca Guadagnino for Challengers. We will be looking at how they transitioned the novella Queer by William S Burroughs into a screenplay.
This Script Reads session is open to all people of colour. All members of the Global Majority are welcome.
We will aim to hold this session in Phoenix Park, but this weather dependent, so tbc. Please arrive from 15:30 and no later than 16:20. 1 ticket per admission.
At Script Reads, we hate when you go to events and have to introduce yourself to everyone by summarising your CV, justifying why you belong in the space.
For Script Reads, your introduction will be your name, your pronouns, and your answer to the question, "what is book/comic/artwork/podcast/etc would be your dream to adapt into a screenplay?"
Bring yourself and something you can read the scripts on. Be prepared to read aloud.
Links to the script and any other materials used will be emailed to you the week of the session. They will also be available at the session via QR code.
