“Scribbling Women” Strike Back

This band of women is taking a multifaceted approach all with the same aim: to recover the voices of women who have been erased or lost. In this panel we’ll not only explain our methods of doing our work through podcasts (Kim Askew and Amy Helmes of Lost Ladies of Lit) or publishing (Jessi Haley of Cita Press), taking on false narratives about famous women (Mimi Pond with the Mitford sisters, Emily Van Duyne with Sylvia Plath) starting a cutting-edge bookstore that focuses on women’s books (Jessica Ferri of Womb House Books), and recovering the stories of erased women (Iris Jamahl Dunkle on Sanora Babb), we also will show participants how they can make a change in the real world by recovering women’s stories.
