Young Artists: 4-Week Art Basics Studio

Ignite your child’s creativity in this fun, hands-on 4-week art series designed specifically for young children! Through playful exploration, kids will learn the foundational building blocks of visual art, build confidence, and discover how to express themselves. No prior experience is necessary, and all art materials are provided.

Weekly Schedule:

• Week 1: Foundations of Drawing – Kids will learn the basics of drawing by breaking down reference photos into simple shapes. We will practice turning everyday objects, like trees, into beautiful sketches.
• Week 2: The Magic of Color Theory – We dive into the colorful world of color theory! Children will explore how colors interact, how they mix, and how artists use them to show different moods.
• Week 3: Painting & Blending Basics – Little artists will get comfortable with paintbrushes. They will learn fundamental painting techniques, including how to seamlessly blend colors together on a canvas.
• Week 4: Choice Studio (Grand Finale!) – It’s time for creative freedom! Putting everything they’ve learned together, each child will choose whether they want to create a final drawing or a custom painting to take home.

Athena is a passionate young artist in her late high school years, dedicated to sharing the joy of creativity with the next generation. Having loved art since she was very young, she is currently working toward graduating high school with honors before pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) at university. As an older sister and older cousin, Athena has years of natural experience working with young children, making her excellent at creating a patient, encouraging, and fun environment where little artists can thrive and express themselves.
