A screenwriting workshop created by a partnership between the Dare to Fail film challenge and the Nashville Filmmakers Guild. Experienced filmmakers Sarah Haas and JR Robles bring their skills together to guide students through the process from story concept to screenwriting to production. The workshop is meant for screenwriters at every level. Students have the choice to come with their own goal OR focus on writing a one-minute micro short screenplay. For those who wish to take their project from script to screen, registrants have a free entry to the Dare to Fail Showcase on May 23 - theme "Hero".

-Leave with your script. Breakdowns and a plan for your shot list.
-Bonus Option: complete a 1-minute short film to receive a guaranteed audience at May’s Dare to Fail Showcase at the Third Coast Comedy Club.
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTORS
JR Robles is an actor, writer, and filmmaker based in Nashville, TN. He has taught a number of workshops and courses in creative writing, screenwriting, and film production. JR has worked both above and below the line in numerous film and commercial roles, and brings a wealth of experience to this workshop. He is excited to be working with Nashville Filmmakers Guild in facilitating this class for his community.
Sarah Haas is a film producer and volunteer with the Nashville Filmmakers Guild since 2017. She has created curriculum for the Production Assistant Training Intensive and has a background in filmmaker development workshop logistics through her work at the Sundance Institute for two seasons. Her most recent role in film was Line Producer on the acclaimed feature documentary, GIRLS STATE, available on Apple TV+ April 5, 2024.
