Workshop Tutors: Rachel Lang MNZM & Kathryn Burnett

Rachel is the multi-award winning screenwriter and producer behind numerous series such as "Outrageous Fortune" and "Nothing Trivial" to name just a few of the jewels in her extensive TV career. She currently splits her time working on creating prime time drama in NZ and Australia. She is also the Vice-president of the NZ Writers Guild board and has mentored many newer writers into successful TV writing careers.

Kathryn is an award-winning screenwriter and playwright with over 20 years experience in the NZ television/film industry. She has significant television and film credits as a writer and script consultant (see full credit list - https://www.kathryn-burnett.com/about-kathryn/)

She was a co-winner of NZ TV Awards 2021 Best Script Drama for The Tender Trap (telefeature) and is currently working on My Life is M**der (Series 3) and in 2022 enjoyed a sell out season of her latest play "The Campervan"

Q: What is your refund policy?

A: In case of cancellation by organisers - particpants will receive a full and automatic refund. Participants may cancel and request a full refund up to at least 7 days out from the event. Less than 7 days from event - a credit may be offered solely at the organisers discretion.

Q: Who is this event for?

A: Newer screenwriters or industry pro looking for screenwriting know-how.

Q: Does it matter what type of project I'm writing?

A: No, it doesn't matter what your idea is as long as it's for the screen. (Documentary - this isn't quite right for you.)

Q: Will I have to share my work?

A: Nope.

Q: What should I bring?

A: Your laptop and pen & paper.

Q: Tell me about the catering.

A: We'll be enjoying a leisurely and delicious morning and afternoon tea break which will give you a chance to meet with other writers.
