SCREENWORKS FOR EDUCATORS: INTRODUCTION TO FILM EDITING
About this Event
ABOUT THIS EVENT
Join us for a practical, hands-on introduction to film editing, led by award-winning editor Brian Philip Davis. Designed for teachers, educators and colleagues who work with young people, this free pilot session will explore how editing can be used to shape a story, create meaning and improve the overall impact of a film.
The session adapts the successful ScreenWorks model, which has provided hands-on screen industry experiences for thousands of young people across Northern Ireland, for an educator audience. Participants will learn directly from an experienced industry professional while developing practical skills and insights that can be applied in the classroom or when supporting young people with filmmaking projects. ScreenWorks programmes are delivered by working professionals from the film, television, animation, games and VFX sectors, and industry-led delivery is a key element of the programme's success.
No previous editing experience is required. The session will use clear, accessible language and focus on creative decision-making rather than technical jargon.
