About this Event
An Extraordinary Place
A TOM BELL ORIGINAL DOCUMENTARY
"For anyone who yearns for a human connection to music, this is the story of a quirky little radio station in Maine and the volunteer DJs who defy algorithms with passion."
We couldn't think of a better way to kick off our new series of Screenings @ [the square] than by teaming up with our friends at WMPG and filmmaker Tom Bell to screen his award-winning documentary, .
This event will be a joint fundraiser for our nonprofit partner Equal Measure Arts (who helped sponsor the film), and for the documentary's next milestone: widespread public distribution on YouTube!
We will begin the night with a live acoustic performance by local band One Hundred Thorns, who are featured in the documentary during their performance on WMPG's Local Motives. The film runs approximately 30 minutes, and we will close the event with a Q&A featuring the filmmakers and a panel of DJs from WMPG.
There will be snacks & refreshments available, along with chances to win awesome prizes from WMPG, [the square], and other local business sponsors!
We hope to see you there for the first of our new series, Screenings @ [the square].
