A young Colombian man receives a voice message from home while grappling with cultural differences at a London dinner party with his new English girlfriend. SANTI is a 10-minute proof of concept short film, and the opening scene of a 90-minute feature film around the same subject, which the cast and crew intend to shoot in early 2024 across the UK and Colombia.
The short was crowdfunded during lockdown in January 2021 and shot in Archway, North London over one day in June last year, by a talented cast of 8 and a crew of 22 passionate young volunteer filmmakers. Many other brilliant volunteers were involved during post-production.
The film has since been screened at the BFI Southbank as one of 50 films selected from over 1,000 submissions for the BFI Future Film Festival and it has been described as “an insightful and observational glance at cultural differences, loneliness and the yearning to belong” by film industry magazine View of the Arts.
Following the screening, we will be hosting a Question & Answer session interviewing Writer/Director Harry Richards.
