Screening and Discussion: River of Grass
About this Event
Through the journey of filmmaker Sasha Wortzel and Miccosukee educator and activist Betty Osceola, the film blends Douglas’s writing, archival footage, personal narration, and present-day storytelling to explore the beauty, history, and ongoing challenges of the Everglades.
Following the screening, Vanessa Trujillo, Ph.D., Senior Conservation Program Manager for the National Parks Conservation Association, returns to share an update on conservation efforts in the Everglades and the work underway to protect this essential ecosystem.
Copies of The Everglades: River of Grass by Marjory Stoneman Douglas will be available following the film.
