About this Event

We are delighted to join hands with the AA Visiting School Bahrain cohort and Suha Hasan, head of the AA VS Climate Cartographies programme for an afternoon of film screenings and reflections on the intersection of climate change, heritage, archaeology, and cartography as a way of uncovering new relations lay hidden in our environment.
Last year, AA VS Bahrain studied the challenges posed by climate change through the chosen site of Qal'at al-Bahrain, using the medium of film to respond to the ecology of the island. We invite you to join us for the screening of three short films on Saturday, 4 May 2024, at Common Room, Alserkal Arts Foundation. The screening will be followed by a participatory, critical discussion led by researcher Sabih Ahmed with the students about the future of our coastlines and port cities while, in parallel, re-imagining the role of urban and architecture pedagogies in light of environmental urgencies.
Date: Saturday, 4 May 2024
Time: 4-7PM
Location: WH51, Common Room, Alserkal Arts Foundation
