An evening in which Tim Hill tries out his new 'show' and invites comments, derision and chat. There will an invitation to make contributions towards the church funds and a cup of tea.
Tim weaves together songs, instruments and sound makers into a solo show that draws on his love of, and research into, our musical traditions. From his suitcase falls a heap of instruments and noise makers, out of which Tim conjures worlds of sounds from traditional sources - prison songs, medieval dance tunes, nursery rhymes, jigs and reels, rough music, work songs and ballads and percussion and noise.
Instruments include c clarinet, horns, pipe and tabor, alto sax, tambourines, grid irons, bagpipes, kazoos and a host of noisy things. The show is playful, at times wild, full of melody, adventure and rhythm.

Tony Benjiman saw the show’s first outing at Bristol’s Cube
The first surprise was musical shaman Tim Hill. Announcing his act as comprising “scraps, heaps and jumble of folk noise” he proceeded to deploy everything at his feet from animal horns to a kitchen rack and – hoorah! – an old school football rattle. A stream of folk-consciousness on clarinet and alto sax that played with traditional tunes in countless creative ways. He held the thread of performance in a perfect balance. It was a bravura piece of meaningful musical nonsense.
