So excited to bring back the Refashion Show to ScrapFest this year! The Refashion Show is a showcase, not a competition, and anyone can participate! Participants will get to show their upcycled garment(s) or accessory as part of the runway show. To join the fun and show your refashioned piece, please sign up in advance so we are prepared to tell the crowd about it!

This aspect of ScrapFest offers local upcyclers, makers, menders and creative thrifters an opportunity to show how they are diverting textiles from landfills! As such, accessories or garments should be around 80% reused/reclaimed materials. (This does not have to be an entire outfit, but if you're showing a hat or jacket, 80% of that item should be made of repurposed material.)
The Refashion show takes place on the first night of the festival, Friday, July 12, at 7 p.m. ET on the main stage. (Learn more about ScrapFest at scrapfest.com)
Leading up to the event there will be three co-working meet-ups at MSU Surplus Store & Recycling Center for people who want assistance, are looking for secondhand material, or just like working together. The meet-ups will take place during Spartan Upcycle's Open Craft sessions on Friday June 7, 14, and 28, all of them 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. ET.
There is no fee to participate in the show or attend the co-working meet-ups.
