CALLING ALL SCOUTSJoin us at Battleship Cove to earn your merit badges. You will work with our Merit Badge Counselor to complete all of the required tasks and skills to earn your merit badge.
Badge Workshop Offerings
November 3 American Heritage:
Join us at Battleship Cove to achieve the American Heritage merit badge. Gain a better understanding of our nation’s founding values, history and how it led to present day America. Paying close attention to historical figures and important documents related to America’s past, scouts can better appreciate their shared history.
December 8 American Cultures:
Join us at Battleship Cove for the American Cultures merit badge, learning about Americas rich history of immigration from different cultures from around the world. Explore different religions and social customs of different groups and the value of respect and cooperation among different backgrounds.
January 12 American Labor:
Join us at Battleship Cove for the American Labor merit badge. Discover the issues related to the United States vast industrial workforce and how the rights of laborers are protected. Gain a better understanding of basic economics and how it relates to American workers.
February 16 Communication:
Join us at Battleship Cove for the Eagle required merit badge Communication. Learn the value of communication, how to communicate with others in various ways and how powerful it can be when used effectively. Practicing verbal communication in public and with the group, thinking about the importance of it in our daily lives.
March 9 Citizenship in the Nation:
Join us at Battleship Cove for the Eagle required merit badge, Citizenship in the nation. Scouts will discuss the significance of our Constitution, learning how to protect individual freedoms and actively participate in local and national government. Dissect the United States Government and see how it operates in different ways.
April 6 Safety:
Join us at Battleship Cove for the Safety merit badge. Learn how to make the right decisions in emergency situations and how to respond effectively. Understand the potential hazards you might face, how to prepare properly and the importance of emergency action plans that could save lives.
May 4 Scouting Heritage:
Join us at Battleship Cove for the Scouting Heritage merit badge. Learn about significant figures that helped create Scouting and how the program has evolved over time. Using real artifacts and talking with former scouts, you can explore the impact scouting has had on peoples lives.
June 8 Signs, Signals, and Codes:
Join us at Battleship Cove for the Signs, Signals, and Codes merit badge. Methods scouts can learn to enhance their skills in communication through nonverbal means like morse code or brail. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with semaphore flags and visit Big Mamie’s radio room.
