About this Event
This course is available for all adult volunteers in Warwickshire Scouting
The County Executive Committee have committed to funding free First Aid training for Warwickshire Scout adult volunteers.
To ensure efficient take up of places, we ask that if you need to cancel a place after booking that you give at least two weeks' notice. If cancelled after this date and the place is not filled, then your Scout Group/District will be invoiced for the place. We hope you understand as places are limited.
First Response Course
*Life Support
The principles of first aid and initial response (arriving at and managing an incident)
Emergency life support (recovery position and safe airway)
CPR, including technique for adults and children
Choking
Causes and treatment of unresponsiveness
*Trauma and injury
Shock
Bleeding
Fractures and sprains
Head injuries
Dental incidents
Burns
*Major illness
Asthma
Anaphylaxis
Heart Attack
Stroke
Seizures
Diabetes
Sepsis and meningitis
The building will be open from 9.15 for you to get a drink prior to a prompt start at 9.30am. We will have a half hour break for lunch and aim to finish the course by 4pm. Please wear comfortable clothing appropriate to some ‘role play’ on the floor.
Joining Instructions will be issued 2 days before the event.
Please bring your own lunch. There will be tea, coffee and squash available all day.
