Scottsdale Sounds - Musician Showcase at Scottsdale Public Library will be on Wed April 2, 2024 at 5:30 pm and will feature two great local musicians. Come enjoy this free community concert.Pete Pancrazi - Pete has studied and performed music for most of his life. He holds a Bachelor of music degree from the Berklee College of Music and a Masters in jazz performance from Arizona State University. Being named by Downbeat Magazine as "one to watch" and a guitar player "deserving greater attention" is no surprise to those who have heard him perform.
Pete has been "one to watch" in the Phoenix area since taking up residence here in 1990. Through the years, he has cultivated a large and loyal following. Audiences enjoy his nimble guitar work and warm vocals in settings ranging from solo proformances to shows with his trio and quartet at the top jazz venues in Arizona. Pete continues to delight audiences with a growing repertoire of original compositions, along with straight-ahead and Latin jazz classics.. He has released four CDs to date which includes a Christmas album that features holiday standards arranged with a jazz twist.
In addition to being a popular performer, Pete is also a sought-after private teacher and clinician and is currently on staff at Mesa Community College, where he teaches jazz theory, jazz combo and guitar.
Dan Jacobsen - We're thrilled to have local musician Dan Jacobsen join us in the Scottsdale Sounds family. Dan's musical journey began in 1988, and though he took a few early lessons, he's largely self-taught, honing his skills over the years. A long-time music lover, Dan also served as a worship leader for 12 years before taking a break from regular performance. Inspired by a friend and fellow musician, Dan reignited his passion for playing in 2021 and has been actively performing at open mics, with his band, and as a solo artist ever since. Dan tells us he especially enjoys the energy of playing with other musicians. He's looking forward to sharing his blend of classic rock and 80s music with us.
Humanjones Review - Featuring Bryan Fishkind on guitar and vocals, his daughter Z on keyboards, accordion, vocals, and Gail Paul on flute and penny whistles. Together, they play a little Americana, folk, rock, originals, instrumentals and the like. Gail is an accomplished and formally trained classical musician. Bryan had enough dollars to buy four weeks of guitar lessons in 1965. Z has been playing piano and singing since she was 6.
