About this Event
More than 20 acts will take to the stage at the Old Royal high School on Saturday September 3rd for Scotland in Colour 2022.

For IYS, Scotland in Colour is a chance to celebrate the young artists they connect with through their services and give them facilitated opportunities to hone and share their talent.

IYS are offering free tickets for BPOC young people age 25 and under to Scotland in Colour 2022, and Pay what you can tickets for all attendees to reduce financial barriers to accessing the show

Between noon and 5pm is a youth showcase staged in the renowned Pianodrome amphitheatre

Featuring a special performance of 'Out of the Common', a collaboration between musicians with differing experience from IYS and Drake Music Scotland, the country's leading organisation creating music making opportunities with children and adults with disabilities and additional support needs. Emerging artists Esther Goliath and Omar James from IYS have been busy creating soulful beats, lyrics and poetry to work by Drake Music Scotland’s prolific composer Chris Jacquin and beatsmaker Sanjeev Mann, whose influence is making a new mark on Scottish hip hop.

During the evening is an eclectic crop of artists and DJs from around Scotland

Including names such as rappers AD3, Skyy Boii and Bemz, Billy Got Waves, r'n'b group 4Tune and lauded Jazz outfit Grace & the Flat Boys

Music Vault, SiC's closing party (18+) will offer sets from a pick of DJs currently making waves through Scotland's club scene such as Iso Yso, a Glasgow-based DJ whose sets take inspiration from orchestral compositions and video game soundtracks, Optimistic Soul aka electronic music DJ and producer Sibusiso Mpofu now showcasing his love for underground afrohouse and afrotech at his own Africa Is Now night and KTAB, the Moroccan-Scottish DJ/producer soon to make his debut as a recording artist.

While music is the focus of the festival, Scotland in Colour has something for everyone. Live-art, an outdoor terrace to connect with each other, sharing cultural beauty traditions, and is accessible for families during the day. We also will be hosting BPOC food stalls so we can share the love through food.
