Dominic Desautels opens tonight's concert, joined by one of our Young Artists, for Poulenc's sonata for two clarinets—energetic, cheeky, lots of fun! Peter Allen brings us Busoni's imposing transcription of the iconic Bach Chaconne, and after intermission we hear another mighty work: Ernest Chausson's innovative double concerto, which brims with all the virtuosity and passion of high Romanticism.ON THE PROGRAM:
