Join us for a nighttime hike through the park as we hunt for scorpions, as well as other nocturnal critters that call Cheyenne Mountain home. The evening will begin with a brief discussion of scorpions and their adaptations, then we will head out on the trail to see if we can find some of these critters ourselves using blacklights!
Please plan to meet you guides at the Camper Services building. We will spent some time looking for these critters around the parking lot and then move onto the Acorn Alley trial for a hike along a short trail!
We recommend that participants wear close-toed shoes (if able), dress in layers for the weather and bring water. A limited number of blacklights will be available to borrow, but please feel free to bring your own if you have one!
Although this program is free, a valid park pass is required on every vehicle that enters the park. Day passes, if needed, can be purchased at the Iron Ranger located on the right hand side of the road near the entry station.
