Unearth the Past and Discover the Giants of TodayStep back in time with Denver Museum of Nature & Science scientists as we spotlight Colorado’s elephants, including mastodons and mammoths from one of the Museum’s most groundbreaking excavations: the Snowmastodon Discovery. As we welcome the temporary exhibit The Secret World of Elephants from the American Museum of Natural History, we’ll dig into Colorado’s ancient elephants and explore their surprising ties to the elephants we know and love today.
Join curators from our Earth Sciences department for a lively, bite-sized lecture on the mega-sized fossil record of elephants that once lived your own backyard and throughout the region. Afterward, stroll through The Secret World of Elephants, where you can chat with volunteer educators and curators and get up close with rarely seen specimens from our collections.
It’s science, storytelling and socializing in one unforgettable evening. Tickets are limited, so grab yours now!
