Science on Tap: Companion Animal Health

What determines how and what dogs and cats should eat? This session explores the anatomical, physiological, and behavioural differences that shape feeding our pets. We’ll connect the science of nutrition with real-world feeding practices, including how to support natural behaviours like hunting and play, especially in cats.

Dr. Alexandra Rankovic, Research Associate at the University of Guelph, is a Companion Animal and Equine Nutritionist who loves to talk all about healthy ways to feed our furry friends. Together with fellow presenter, Dr. Kate Shoveller, U of G Professor and Champion Petfoods Chair in Canine and Feline Nutrition, our world-leading experts will bring us the latest in the science of companion animal health.
